Occupational Therapy (OT) is a health profession that empowers people of all ages to overcome barriers in their everyday lives so they can do more and live better. OTs are university educated professionals that apply their specialized knowledge and skills to recommend a course of preventive or corrective action that will help people lead more productive and satisfying lives, trained to understand not only the medical and physical limitations of a disability or injury, but also the psychosocial factors that affect the functioning of the whole person – their health and their wellness, and a regulated medical profession; occupational therapists must be registered with their provincial regulator in order to practice legally in Canada.

Hello, my name is Kalpana Loganathan, and I am excited to be a part of CATS. I hold a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) degree from India, where I gained over three years of experience working in a pediatric clinic, working with children with Autism, Down Syndrome and developmental delays. After moving to Canada, I worked as a therapy assistant in Fort St. John, BC, for two years. This role provided me with valuable insights into the Canadian healthcare system and gave me the opportunity to witness the dedication and passion of healthcare professionals who strive to serve their communities.

In addition to clinical experience, I am certified in First Aid and CPR and have received specialized training in behaviour management and parent coaching, including SPARK Training in Coaching Parents to Use Hanen Strategies and Circle of Security Parenting.

I recently relocated to Ontario and am thrilled to join CATS. As a therapy assistant, I am committed to providing high-quality therapeutic care. I am excited to be part of a team that goes above and beyond to support the well-being of our community.

I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your goals.
